This guide explains how to add additional arenas to an existing Spawnpoint Controller.
Whether you're adding a brand new arena or migrating existing standalone arenas to a shared Controller, the process is largely the same.
Before You Start
Before adding additional arenas to Spawnpoint, ensure that:
- The Spawnpoint Controller PC is online.
- All Game Servers can communicate with the Controller PC.
- All headsets can communicate with the Controller PC.
- Any required firewall rules have been configured.
If you have not yet configured your network, please refer to the Preparing your Network for Multiple Arenas guide before continuing.
Important: Spawnpoint requires both Game Servers and headsets to be able to communicate with the Controller PC. If your network is configured incorrectly, arenas may fail to pair, headsets may not appear in Spawnpoint, or features such as Multi-Arena Linking may not function correctly.
Removing Duplicate Spawnpoint Controllers
If you have already setup multiple Spawnpoint Controllers on each of your arenas, you will first need to remove all but one of them before proceeding to adding your new arenas. If you're setting things up for the first time, you can skip this step.
1. Uninstall your Spawnpoint Controllers
Select a PC to use as your Primary Arena, do not remove the Controller from this PC. Instead, do the following on your other PCs:
- Open Add or Remove Programs in Windows
- Uninstall the Spawnpoint Controller software, removing all data when prompted to avoid conflicts
Important: Do not uninstall the Spawnpoint Agent. The PC will continue to be used as the arena's Game Server.
2. Clear Existing Agent Pairing
On all arenas other than your Primary Arena (the one with your controller on), you next need to do the following:
- Locate the Spawnpoint Agent icon in the Windows system tray (bottom-right corner of the screen).
- Right-click the Spawnpoint Agent icon.
- Select Clear Agent Pairing.
This removes the existing Controller association and allows the Game Server to pair with your Primary Arena's controller.
Adding Additional Arenas to Spawnpoint
Use this process if you are setting up an arena that has never previously been connected to Spawnpoint.
On your Spawnpoint Controller:
- Open Spawnpoint.
- Click the menu button in the top-left corner.
- Select Add Arena.
1. Create the Arena
Choose a clear name for each arena to identify it in your Spawnpoint Controller.
Examples:
- Arena A
- Arena B
- Arena C
or
- Main Arena
- Family Arena
- Tournament Arena
2. Pair the Game Server
You will need to download the Spawnpoint Agent when prompted and install it on your new arena's game server. Once installed, you will be prompted to enter the IP address of your controller to connect the game server to your Spawnpoint Controller.
3. Add Headsets
Add the arena's headsets during the setup process. Despite being part of your second/third/fourth arena, you need to plug your headsets into your Controller PC to pair them to your Spawnpoint installation.
Game Server or Headsets Not Connecting?
Please make sure you have setup your network to allow for your headsets and game servers to connect to your Spawnpoint Controller. You can read more on this topic in our multi-arena networking guide: Preparing your Network for Multiple Arenas
Accessing the Operator UI
Once your arenas have been configured, the Spawnpoint Operator UI can be accessed from anywhere on your network.
Open a web browser and navigate to:
http://<controller IP>:4376
For example:
http://192.168.1.10:4376
The Operator UI is fully tablet-friendly, allowing staff to manage games, players and arenas from tablets, laptops and other devices connected to the network.
This means operators are not required to sit in front of the Controller PC during normal operation.
Tip: Pico and VIVE Focus customers should set Spawnpoint as their Device Admin (Owner/MDM). This allows Spawnpoint to deploy application updates wirelessly across all arenas, making updates significantly faster and eliminating the need to connect headsets via USB in most situations.
